Prof. Dr. Torbjørn Netland

Experienced Learning: Education Engineered for the Next Industrial Age


Prof. Dr. Torbjørn Netland is Full Professor and Head of Production and Operations Management at ETH Zurich. A leading expert in manufacturing excellence, he serves on the World Economic Forum’s Global Future Councils. He is a Fellow of the European Academy for Industrial Management and President of EurOMA. His award-winning research appears in Management Science, Journal of Operations Management, and MIT Sloan Management Review, among other journals. He is co-author of Introduction to Manufacturing (Routledge, 2022) and co-founder of EthonAI, a manufacturing analytics company.

NOI Techpark Innovation Ecosystem: Bridging Research and Industry in South Tyrol


Vincent Mauroit holds a Master of Science degree in Electromechanical Engineering from the University of Ghent, Belgium and an Executive MBA in General Management from the University of Mannheim and ESSEC Business School in Paris and is an alumnus of the Executive Program in Exponential Technologies at Singularity University in California, USA. He previously led the innovation, product management, and advanced development activities at Röchling Automotive, where he was responsible for the innovation management process and the business development of new products for several car manufacturers in Europe, the USA, and China. He has co-founded and mentors several start-up companies and currently heads the Innovation Management and Technology Transfer activities at NOI Techpark in Bolzano, Italy. Vincent is deeply passionate about innovation, particularly technological advancements that contribute to a more sustainable world and have the potential to address some of the greatest challenges humanity is facing today.

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Florian Schupp

Developing a NextGen Digital Manufacturing Supplyverse


Prof. Dr.-Ing. Florian Schupp is Senior Vice President Purchasing and Supplier Management E-Mobility, Motor and Motor Components at the Schaeffler Group, Germany. Within his responsibility at Schaeffler he is also shareholder representative at SupplyOn, Hallbergmoos, Germany. He completed his PhD at TU Berlin on strategy development in purchasing and logistics. Prof. Schupp integrates practical purchasing work with academic research together with his team and several Universities such as in Digital twins and predictive AI-based inspections for quality control with Free University of Bozen, Additive Manufacturing & Sustainability with University of Udine and University of Catania, Sustainability vs. Resilience with University of Verona, Skills meet AI era project with University of Notthingham, University of Bergamo and University of Padova, Study on Critical Raw Materials with Politecnico di Bari, Recycling of plastics automotive components with University of Turin, among others. Florian Schupp is Adjunct Professor for Logistics at the Constructor University Bremen and teaches at the Technical University Berlin. Prof. Dr. Schupp is a frequent guest speaker at leading universities, sharing insights on procurement trends and practical expertise, with recent lectures and talks at Stanford University, California (United States); Tongji University, Shanghai (China); University of Cambridge, Cambridge (United Kingdom); University of Verona, Verona (Italy). Florian Schupp is co-editor of several scientific purchasing and supply management books and is member of the Advisory Board of the Engineering Management Phd Program (DRIG) at Politecnico di Bari, Italy, and member of the Advisory Board of Manfred Erkert Familienstiftung, Sulzbach/Murr, Germany.

Dr. Febe de Wet

Lesedi PFS, BMW (South Africa)


Febe de Wet is currently a member of the Conversational AI team at BMW SA’s IT Hub. She is also an extraordinary associate professor at Stellenbosch University's Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering. Before the assignment at BMW SA, she held various positions in academia and spent 10 years at the South African Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) where she led numerous projects on the development of language resources and speech technology for South Africa's indigenous languages. Her research interests include statistical pattern recognition, automatic speech recognition and, more recently, the automotive industry. She is especially interested in developing chatbots, speech recognition systems for children and educational applications of language technology. Febe has a B.Eng (1993, Stellenbosch University, South Africa) and an M.Eng (1998, University of Pretoria, South Africa) in Electronic Engineering and holds a PhD degree from the Radboud University in the Netherlands.

Jonas Barth is a dedicated researcher in the field of production management and circular production. He holds a Master of Science (M.Sc.) from PTW at the Technical University of Darmstadt and is affiliated with the Institute for Applied Logistics and Finance (IALF). With a passion for advancing the circular economy, Jonas focuses on empowering individuals for sustainable and circular production through competency development in learning factories. His work aims to drive the integration of sustainable practices into production systems and foster a circular future.
